The phrase "blood, toil, tears and sweat" was first uttered on 2. July 1849 by Giuseppe Garibaldi when rallying his revolutionary forces in Rome. However, the phrase became well known after a speech given by Winston Churchill to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the UK on 13. May 1940. "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat". From Sep 2010 to Apr/May 2011 I will try to bike from San Francisco to Santiago. I know this bicycle journey will offer me toil, sweat and joy.

Huayna Potosi 6060m
One of the best trips I ever had. Heavy, but amazing. Is was very special to be at 6060 meters above sea level. Great feeling!!! But I was scared as well, because I am afraid of the heights. Thanks to Anne Sofie, she "saved" my life up there. I had only problem the second day, when I had headache. On the third day, the day we climbed/walked from 5130 meter to 6060 I felt good. Thanks to Lars, Anne Sofie, Johanne and Ylva who made this trip so amazing.
