oohh Vera, you are so beautiful!

The name of the city is Veracruz. A nice name I think. I like this city and maybe the best I have visited in Mexico. The historical center is not so big as others, but I like the old buildings and the atmosphere they have here. And you don´t get so many "eyes" on you all the time, because they are used to the gringos (tourists).

tires

Good way to take care of you tires is to change the front tire with the back tire after some kilometers.
After around 3400 km is time for me to do it on my bike "miss Brooks". This is from the hotel room in Veracruz.
After 3400 km biking on good and bad roads I haven´t got any puncture. So I am really happy and satisfied with my german Schwalbe tires, the best on the market.
I hope and guess the tires will last until 7-8000km, if I still continue so long on this journey. Normal and cheap tires only last maybe until 2-4000km.

hammock

One night I borrowed this hammock on a bungalow close to the beach. It was cool and nice, but I have had a better night. Not so comfortable, because I normally sleep on my stomach side. Very difficult to do in a small hammock. My plan was to sleep only in my sleeping bag on the beach, but because lot of crabs walking on the sand during the night and a ugly dirty dog after me all the time I decided to sleep in the hammock. Pic 1 the "night" with the "moon". Pic 2 the "morning" with the "sunrise". The lucky man!

oohh my good friend Oxxo!

OXXO is like seven-eleven in Norway. I get really happy and appreciate when I see this shop along the road. Is so good to have a break there, buy something cold to drink, something that gives you energy like a chocolate, chips or food and they have air condition so you can "cool" down.
And you don´t steal in this OXXO, the police station is just beside it.
PEMEX is the national oil company in Mexico, own and controlled by the government. So it is only PEMEX in Mexico and no other oil companies. Can you imagine only Statoil in Norway? I guess you can Mr. Susort, haha!
Where you find PEMEX, you normally also find OXXO.
The price of 1 liter gasoline in Mexico is around 4 NOK. Can you fix that in Norway Mr. Susort? haha!

a biker vs. a motorbiker

A motorbiker I met on the road/in a resturant, a very nice man. The motorbike to right, is the biggest motorbike I have seen.

Nightlife in San Luis Potosi

I didn´t find any beautiful senorita to dance with, so I took a picture instead. Maybe best for myself, I guess the Mexicans would get good laughs.

relaxing

In the hotel room in San Luis Potosi.
Planning my trip further down Mexcio and then Guatemala.
Maybe not the best way to relax to see Manchester United score a goal (in the tv background), haha!

Italian food in Mexico

The food in Mexico is cheap and I like it. But the variety is not so big. So sometimes is good to make our own food like pasta and ravioli.
But I am looking forward to bike to the coast again, I am ready for the fish tacos. I have missed them.

Mexican tagger

Not! This is how they make they sign (signpost/plate)for their shops in Mexico.

baseball (cap) style or cowboy style?

ice cream seller

Most people in Mexico are really friendly and helpful. Like this ice cream seller. He made his own ice cream and this wagon has been used for 3 generation in his family. He gave me free ice cream and it tasted really good. Mucho gracias amigo!

Sombrerete

Mexico has lot of colony cities made from the spanish conquistadors. Sombrerete is one of them. Very nice and relaxed city with small streets and lof of churches. This little city had 10 and all of them are beautiful.

what a day in Durango

In Durango I have to find and buy some gear to my bike. I knew it will be difficult, because I don´t know where the bike shop is and probably they will not have the gear I need because is not common here in Mexico.
In one bike shop where they of course didn´t have the gear I needed I met a really nice boy called Gonzalo (the boy on white t-shirt on left side). He showed me another bike shop where they had the gear I needed (2 of 28 inches tires). The owner/the boss in black t-shirt gave me 11 spokes and the work for free. Thanks a lot! What a nice people!!
After Gonzalo invited me to his home for dinner. His mother Betty made corn soup as a starter, fish taco as a main meal and cake to desert. It was so good. And Betty gave me also homemade peanut butter and 7 good/nice marzipan sweets. Mucho grazie!!!!!!!
Really nice to meet all of you.
I will remember Durango as a very good place because of you.
