Toil, sweat and joy

The phrase "blood, toil, tears and sweat" was first uttered on 2. July 1849 by Giuseppe Garibaldi when rallying his revolutionary forces in Rome. However, the phrase became well known after a speech given by Winston Churchill to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the UK on 13. May 1940. "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat". From Sep 2010 to Apr/May 2011 I will try to bike from San Francisco to Santiago. I know this bicycle journey will offer me toil, sweat and joy.

Death Road

From Wikipedia: It is legendary for its extreme danger and in 1995 the Inter-American Development Bank christened it as the "world's most dangerous road".One estimate is that 200 to 300 travellers were killed yearly along the road.The road includes crosses marking many of the spots where vehicles have fallen.

It wasn´t so dangerous as I expected. But I love to bike "fast and furious" downhill.
